Hello! We are about to head into week 4 of school here in Western Australia (but only the third week of school thanks to a COVID lockdown). We’re back into a routine and all the term based activities have started again. Back to swimming lessons, gymnastics, trampolining and – Social Stamping at the Taste of Dalyellup cafe.
Mandy Depiazzi and I are running Social Stamping every Monday morning – and we’d love for you to join us. You don’t need any supplies – we provide them all! Any level of crafting experience is welcome.
We like to mix up what we make – so there’ll often be a new stamp set to try or a new technique or style to play with. Tomorrow’s we’re using the “A Cut Above” stamp set to create a card for the guys.
Often, there will be two layout options – or you are welcome to make your own design using the pieces provided.
Remember how I said last week that I had an idea for the long die in the Suit & Tie Dies? Well, here it is – the stitched strips are the perfect size to fit along a standard Australian card. I’ve used Granny Apple Green, Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green.
The guy is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured with Stampin’ Blends. Doesn’t he look like he’s having an amazing birthday!!! I’ll take a cocktail in the hammock for my birthday too!

Hi there! How’s your weekend going? You won’t believe it, but this is my second live post this week! I’m in the very lucky position of hanging out at a craft retreat all weekend, so I’m taking the chance to show you a project I made this month.
These cards feature the Floating & Fluttering bundle – one of the new butterfly sets available in the Jan-June mini catalogue.
I’ve made it in two colour combinations. The first is a version style on the Monarch butterfly. We released these gorgeous butterflies at my wedding (12 years ago!) so they hold a special place in my heart.
To make this card I stamped the butterflies on a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I then stamped the butterflies again on another piece, coloured them with Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends and then die cut using the coordinating Fluttering Dies.
The die set has the option to cut the butterflies into individual butterflies – as I have in the Pumpkin Pie card. Or, to cut as a whole segment – as I have in the version below.
This version using a gorgeous array of pastels – Mint Macaron & Just Jade as the base colours and then Rococo Rose, Highland Heather and Seaside Spray for the butterflies.
The Floating & Fluttering stamp set is images only – no greetings, which means you can mix & match it with your favourite sentiments from others sets. I’ve used the Punch Party stamp set – one of the stamp sets available during Sale-A-Bration (which ends next weekend!). This one is completely free with every order fo $500.

I’m hopping with my friends on the crew from around the world and I can’t wait to see what they share with us today! Kangaroos are native to Australia and can be seen often in the wild, though it’s rare to have them in your back yard and it’s not very common to have them as pets (though occasionally people will keep a rescued joey – baby kangaroo). We have a local wildlife park where you can stop by feed the kangaroos. It’s so fun to have a stamp set in the catalogue with Australian roots. I’m taking a different angle on this one compared to the cards I posted last month for a Just Add Ink hop. Today it’s all about the punny cards. You know I love a card that comes with a smile!
The first one uses other supplies in my stash, together with the Kangaroo & Company bundle to create a “Happy Birthday to Roo!” card!
The stamp sets are Many Messages (happy birthday) & Itty Bitty Birthdays (to) – heat embossed in white on Rococo Rose cardstock. The ROO! letters are in Misty Moonlight cardstock using the Playful Alphabet Dies & Foam Adhesive Sheets.
The rest of the stamps you can see – kangaroo, presents & butterflies are all from the Kangaroo & Company stamp set. It’s the perfect builder set – you can customise for any mood or occasion. The DSP on this card is from the Fine Art Floral DSP pack and the embossing folder is Painted Texture 3D. I’m also loving having a white twine back in the range – available in a twin pack with a pretty Blushing Bride.
The second card is a play on the kangaroo method of getting around – “hoppy birthday”! With some help from my favourite set – Pretty Perennials, I have adjusted the ‘a’ to an ‘o’.
The super cute flowers – designed to be a pouch accessory, also work as a stand alone stamp. I’ve stamped several clusters in each corner and coloured them with Stampin’ Blends (Rococo Rose, Daffodil Delight, Just Jade).
Can you spot the boo boo on this card? I was making these late on Saturday night (yes, I’m motivated by a deadline) and didn’t notice til I was editing the photos! Mistakes on cards don’t worry me at all. This will still be ‘hopping’ it’s way over to a special birthday lady soon!

Hello Monday! I thought I’d be sharing this post with you as we embarked on the first day back at school for 2021 for the Little Miss Papercrafts. But, as the twists and turns of the pandemic would have it, we are in lockdown for the next 5 days. There will be a first day at school – just not this week! Fingers crossed the swift lockdown works and we’re back to normal programming soon.
I’m hoping that lockdown gives me lots of craft time this week and can’t wait to see the inspiration the Stamp Review Crew bring for today’s stamp set – the Snailed It bundle!
This is one of my favourite sets from the Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalogue, so I can’t wait to see what the crew do with it.
I made these cards earlier in the month and have been saving them to share, knowing that this blog hop was coming up.
The first card – top left – was a card we made in my team class. It used the Snailed It stamp set, coordinating Snail Dies and the also coordinating Postage Stamp Punch.
The background for this card uses the Postage Stamp Punch together with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder. I punched the postage stamp shape first (x5) on Basic White cardstock and then put them all in the embossing folder to give them the lovely texture. Then I laid them out on the Basic White mat. I love the white on white effect!
The snail is stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink and then coloured with Stampin’ Blends before being cut out with the matching die. I loved the little envelope, so included this in the top corner to house the sentiment – which is from the Punch Party stamp set. Punch Party is available for FREE on any order of $500 or more until the end of February 2021. The final touch was a couple of Opal Rounds. These fly under the radar a little in the catalogue – the gorgeous colour and shine is so hard to capture. But trust me when I saw you’ll want these little gems in your collection!
The second card I made in multiples to go with January orders for my customers.
We all joke about mail travelling by ‘snail mail’ these days, but it really is a wonderful feeling to open the letterbox and find happy mail in there.
The ‘happy mail’ stamp from this set has “enclosed” under the mail but I’ve taken to my stamp with a sharp craft knife and cut that part out. I’ve kept it, of course – which means I can add it back in if I need to, but I really love the flexibility of just having a happy mail stamp to use on the front of cards, and not just one designed for envelopes. The snail stamp also had a sentiment attached, but I snipped that off too so I could use the snail on its own. I know some people find it hard to cut up their stamps but I don’t even give it a second thought. If it makes the stamp set more functional for me, then it gets the snip! The stamps go back together so nicely if you are careful with how you cut them, so you’re sure to get so much more use from your stamps.
I’ve used lots of the same elements and styling in this card – the Painted Texture Embossing Folder, Postage Stamp Punch and of course, the Snail Dies for cutting out that cute little snail.

Hello! It’s been a very quiet blogging month for me. Behind the scenes I’ve been spending almost every night crafting up a storm, which has left very little time to share those projects with you. Blogging is a delicate balance – too much time spent photographing, editing, watermarking, uploading and writing posts means too little time spent making!!!
The balance is important here at Papercraft HQ. My time is always a juggle between mummy duties, paid work (I’m a paediatric Speech Pathologist) and having a social life of my own! I don’t think I always got it right in 2020, but on reflection, its been a year full of lots of amazing, so I can’t complain!
To catch up on what I’ve been up to, I’m aiming to share a project a day with you for the rest of 2020. The week it’s all about Christmas. If you’re a deadline crafter like me, then you may still have some cards to make in the lead up to Christmas. If you’re all done and dusted on Christmas crafting for 2020, then make sure to save your favourites to Pinterest for next year’s creative endeavours!
Today’s project to share is my team gifts for 2020. This year our team celebrated twice – a lunch in Mandurah (the half way point between our Perth & Bunbury teamies) and a lunch and team class in Bunbury.
The concept for the jars started as a ‘motivation pot’. I wanted the team to have something on their desk that they could dip into when they were feeling a little low on crafty mojo. What better way to inspire creativity than a little sugar?
I also stamped and added some positive sayings from a beautiful Uniquely Creative set I was gifted by a friend. If sugar doesn’t do the trick, then hopefully some words of affirmation help to get those creative juices flowing again!
The jars for the project were from Kmart. The rainbow was the inspiration for the accompanying tag – and has become my motif for this Christmas. It was drawn freehand with the brush end of Stampin’ Blends, which means I can create it in any colour and match it to the project or wrapping. The stamps are from the Gnome for the Holidays stamp set (a little christmas wish), Ridiculously Awesome stamp set (heart) and my name is from a personalised stamp I own. I’ve been using Night of Navy and other dark inks lots this festive season an an alternative to black. They stamp so nice and bold!
The saying on the top resonated with me and I hope with the team too. I’m a big believer in the philosophy of our actions and reactions being a choice. I choose kind as my action and positive as my reaction and outlook. I’m looking forward to reading a book recommended by Stampin’ Up! CEO Sara Douglass called Adversity is the Way by Ryan Holiday (some good “holiday” reading – pun intended!!!).
Lucky for me our team is wonderful and so supportive of each other in both our creative endeavours and everyday life.
It was Grandad Papercraft’s birthday yesterday – and I must be rubbing off on him, because it’s starting to look like a whole week of birthday celebrations that could extend through the month!
It might have been our trip to the zoo on the weekend, or perhaps just the total cuteness of the From All of Us stamp set, but it seemed like the perfect option for his birthday card.
When you remove the centre slider piece – which in this case is the coloured animals on a Pear Pizzazz circle, the card opens out for the message on the inside. Although I usually share cards before they are personalised with a birthday message, I’ve taken this one after the Little Miss Papercrafts have written to Grandad Papercraft. They love acrostic poems – and almost every card that the misses write out at Papercraft HQ gets a little bit of literary magic.
I’m not great with being creative for animal colouring, so I’ve used Stampin’ Blends in the colours shown on a sample in the catalogue. The catalogue is a wonderful resource and I refer to it all the time.
There’s no die for this stamp set, so it was a love job on the fussy cutting. A little precarious on some of the smaller parts, but I got there without any accidents!!
The DSP for this card is my favourite sheet from the Forever Greenery DSP. I’m often reminded of the adage about knowing a crafter likes you if they use their favourite DSP on your card! We definitely think Grandad Papercraft (my Dad) is the best and feel very lucky to have shared in his birthday celebrations (rounds 1 & 2 so far!!!) – complete with party bags and cake!

I’ve blogged before about how much I love this bundle – so I’m excited to join in with a hop that celebrates it’s awesomeness!!!
My card is a Christmas card in non-traditional colours. I love the classic red & green combo but I really love Christmas in blue!
The base for this card is Misty Moonlight with a Seaside Spray mat. The top layer – cut with the awesome 3 part tag die from the Peek-A-Hoot Dies is Whisper White. The sentiments are white embossing on Night of Navy cardstock and the “OWL” letters are Flowers for Every Season DSP. They are of course the Playful Alphabet Dies (another favourite!) with Foam Adhesive Sheets to make the letters pop!
I love being able to customise cards so they are meaningful. For this card, I stamped the two owls together and also the owls on the branch and layered them to recreate my family dynamic. Any guesses who the rouge little one jumping at the back might be??? They are easy to colour using Stampin’ Blends.
The sentiment for this card appeals to my ‘punny’ side. Another variation is to leave out the little owls and use the two snuggly owls with “TWO” letters (‘from two of us’).
This stamp set has it all – images you can colour, super cute sentiments (in a fabulous font) and great accessory stamps. The fact that it has amazing coordinating dies (and the tag frame) is a wonderful bonus! The sentiments in the set also cater to Halloween – which is great for me because I rarely buy a dedicated Halloween set and then always end up wanting to make something at the last minute in late October!
I have one more card to share with you. This one combines the sweet little owl with the Gift Wrapped bundle (also from the 2020 Aug-Dec Mini Catalogue).

I love celebrating birthdays. Giving gifts – cards and presents – is definitely one of my love languages. So being able to make personalised cards (and presents) is my favourite way to spend my crafting time.
I made this birthday card for my sister-in-law. It uses the From All of Us stamp set – which I really love for so many reasons but the main one is that there’s 5 animals and 5 of us at Papercraft HQ – so it turns into a bit of a family portrait!
We’re still debating who the monkey of the family is 😛 but I decided to colour the ostrich pink and make her into a flamingo! Perhaps a bit of a stretch, but poetic license is the beauty of making cards! I’m definitely not a master of colouring but Stampin’ Blends make it fun to have a go!
The font in the From All of Us stamp set is awesome and it has a happy birthday stamp, so I’m happy!!!
The DSP for this card is from the World of Good Speciality for the circle and Forever Greenery for the strip. It might seem strange to mix DSP themes but I love the contrast!!! You’ll find in most packs that the reverse side is more subtle than the main themed side.

Social Stamping has been going strong in term 3 with Mandy Depiazzi and Narelle Simm joining me to host this fun & creative card making session every week.
It was my turn to design the cards for yesterday’s class. We’d had requests from some of our regular stampers to make teen and masculine cards, so that was my aim.
The first card started off as a series of black and white pieces, which I shared on my Instagram Stories. Don’t follow me yet? You’ll find all my cards on my page and some bits and pieces of my day to day activities in my Instagram stories. Click here to follow.
All that black & white turned into a colourful birthday with the help of Stampin’ Blends.
The “HAPPY” is from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set – stamped on the Stamparatus using the hinged stamping technique to get even spacing. In the between spaces we stamped ‘happy birthday’ from the Timeless Tulips stamp set. And then we added more “HAPPY” using the Playful Alphabet Dies with Foam Adhesive Sheet, coloured with Stampin’ Blends. The stripes on the card base are coordinating Stampin’ Blends using the brush end.
For those that preferred a more muted colour combination, there was an ombre option too…
The second card was inspired by a card in the Stampin’ Up! catalogue (pg 29) using the Geared Up Garage stamp set and Garage Gears Dies.
The catalogue is such a great place to check in for inspiration. The sample in the catalogue was an invite, but I changed up the sentiment using the Well Said stamp set for either a Father’s Day or birthday option.
The background is Cajun Craze cardstock with Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing. The layers are a Night of Navy 2″ strip of cardstock punched with the Banner Triple punch, a 2-1/2″ circle (this punch is now retired but there are similar options in the Layering Circles Dies) in Misty Moonlight cardstock that has been scrunched for a grungy look and a car from Geared Up Garage stamped in Real Red ink & die cut with the coordinating Garage Gears Dies. Some Linen Thread finished the look and a sentiment in Misty Moonlight ink on Whisper White cardstock. Stampers had the option to fussy cut around the words or punch with the Classic Label punch.
This card brought about the most creativity of the day. There were a few happy accidents with the embossing which led to sideways layouts and cards with fantastic ways to style the words including a sign post variation.
Although there’s a design to guide you, Social Stamping classes are all about having fun and I was so happy to see the stampers letting their inner creativity shine.
