About Kelly

Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Hi! Thanks for joining me on my papercraft journey.  It all started for me in 2010 when a friend asked me to come along to a Stampin’ Up! workshop her mum was hosting.  I’m delighted to say that was the beginning of a wonderful journey.  I joined the obsession that is Stampin’ Up! and I’ve never looked back.  I joined Stampin’ Up! in 2012 when they ran a great enticing free DSP promotion.  DSP was my weakness then, and it’s my weakness now.  Plus anything Big Shot, crisp colour cardstock, beautiful embellishments, punches for punch art … oh dear!

I’ve decided to call my blog ‘my papercraft journey’ because that’s what it is to me – a journey of discovery, growth & education.  When I look back at some of the first cards I made, I cringe – they were very beginner.  It’s taken me years to evolve my style and I’m sure it will undergo more changes as my skills continue to develop, as I learn more techniques, and as I grow as a person & a crafter.  I love gaining inspiration from my customers (the best one being my Mum!), blogs of other demos, Pinterest and the world around me.

Aside from Stampin’ Up! which is a daily habit for me, I am wife to Haydn, Mummy to Alexa & Maddie and a part-time Speech Pathologist.  We live in a beautiful regional town called Bunbury, in the South West of Western Australia.  I grew up in Perth – Western Australia’s capital city, so still have lots of connections there including my parents and many of our extended family.  Thanks for sharing my papercraft journey with me & good luck with your own.  Kelly x

  1. Hello from Canada Kelly, love your blog, found you when I saw the fishing card on Juky 26th, I am trying to duplicate it and have it almost figured out but can’t seem to get the hat right. I have looked at your punches but tried the cupcake one and it sort of works, but it doesn’t look right!can you tell me how you did the hat as I am casing the card for my son who loves fishing! Love the idea of it, thanks so much for sharing!
    Thanks

    1. Gday from Australia Eileen! Thanks for visiting mypapercraftjourney and I’m so glad you’re having a go at the fisherman punch art.The hat is a series of large oval punches that have been trimmed down to size (or double cut with the punch). Good luck with your card. Kelly x

  2. Hi Kelly, love your bunny made from the oval framelets, but wondered what size paper you started with. The ovals don’t seem to fit on a 4X51/4 piece of cs. Thank you.

  3. Hello Kelly,

I’m a new demonstrator in Canada and I stumbled across your blog when I was looking for some storage ideas. The markers and ink storage is really great and thank you so much for that.

I really love your clean and crisp designs, but you also use colour brilliantly. Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. Hi Kelly –
I just pinned a card of yours using the Flower Patch Set. It was for a 50th birthday. Any chance you could share the ink colors you used? It is gorgeous!!!!

    Thanks much –

  5. Hi Kelly,
I have just discovered your work and would love to receive more ideas via email postings here in the States😊

    Your color use is striking!

  6. Hi Kelly! I was just looking at your Stampin’ up website and reading your “about” page and had to leave a comment because I, too, am a speech pathologist in the US!! I live in North Dakota and I am also a Stampin’ Up demonstrator and an SLP. So I just had to say hello! I love your stamping style – your cards are beautiful! I enjoyed your website! Take care! Happy Stamping and Happy Speeching! ~Ellen
