Waterfall Card | Baby Pull Toys

The Baby Pull Toys stamp set was the perfect design for a horizontal waterfall card. Who doesn’t want to pull along those baby animal toy carts and watch them flip over???

Have you made a waterfall card before? When you pull the tab, the panels the front panel slides over an under, showing you the full piece underneath. This is thanks to a clever set of score lines & folds. The slider panel is 2-3/4” wide x 9” long and scored at 1-3/4”, 2-1/2”, 3-1/4” and 4”. The Delightful Tag Topper Punch is punched from the other end to the scoring.

Each of the animal images is stamped in classic ink and then highlights added with coordinating Stampin’ Blends.

Once the animals have all flipped through, the card rests in a fully open position with a sentiment from the stamp set (in coordinating colours) and a panel to write your message on.

The background for the card was made using more stamps from the set – the trio of stars. Just like the animals, I’ve added coordinating colour using Stampin’ Blends – Light Pumpkin Pie, Light Mango Melody and Light Bermuda Bay.

The colours for this card are Pumpkin Pie, Bumblebee and Bermuda Bay. I also made a pink option by changing out the Bermuda Bay for Rococo Rose.

If you haven’t made a waterfall card, I hope I have inspired you to try one. The measurements are as follows:
– Base: 5-7/8” x 4-1/8” (a quarter sheet of A4 cardstock)
– Card Mat (colour): 5-1/2” x 3-3/4”
– Card Mat (white): 5-3/8” x 3-5/8”
– Slider: 2-3/4” x 9”
– Crossbar: 1″ x 4-1/8″
– Animal mat (colour): 2-1/2” x 2-1/2”
– Animal mat (white): 2-1/4” x 2-1/4”
– Sentiment strip: 1-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
– Writing panel (colour): 2-1/2″ x 3-7/8″
– Writing panel (white): 2-3/8″ x 3-3/4″

I started the background for this card and although I loved it, it wasn’t quite right for how I wanted this card to end up. Not to worry though – I have a fun way to use that piece, which I will share with you on Friday for our Paper Adventures Team Hop. See you then!

Just Wanted to Say | baby

Don’t tell Mr Papercraft, but sometimes I will buy a die set (or stamp set) just for one favourite image. I like to think it’s a good strategy because usually you end up loving the other images or dies too and then it’s a whole fabulous set with lots of potential.

I really love the ‘just want to say’ die from the Floral Gallery Dies.

I love the tone and style the die adds to the card. Start here then add the rest of your theme. I needed a card for a gorgeous new baby and his parents to go with a parcel I was sending and ‘just wanted to say’ congratulations – this was perfect!

I added a baby onesies from a favourite retired set – Made with Love and the sentiment from the new Many Messages stamp set and coordinating die. It stamps and cuts a whole range of sentiments – ready for any occasion.

I used Adhesive Sheet on the Basic White cardstock before I cut it, which makes it super easy to apply to your card. For this card, I layered it on Seaside Spray cardstock and then fussy just around the whole sentiment.
Tip: use the negative space of the die cut out to line up your letters perfectly!

I love the range of blue tones in the Stampin’ Up! Range. I’ve used quite a few of them here – Misty Moonlight for the card base, Night of Navy for the card mat, Seaside Spray for the blue accents and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends for the baby onesie.

The DSP coordinates perfectly and was a surprise love from this Jan-June 2021 Mini Catalogue DSP range. It’s one of the patterns in the Sand & Sea DSP – not a pack that I had my eye on, but oh my! It’s amazing when you see all the sheets in person. The scalloped edge die is a favourite from the Oranate Borders Dies. And I love having white twine back on offer in the Snail Mail Combo Pack.

Just Add Ink #539 | Choose Two

After a fabulous blog hop earlier in the month, we are back to the regular cycle of Just Add Ink challenges. Today’s “Choose Two” challenge, selected by Di, gives you frames, banners and bow to choose from. Honestly, I could have crafted with all three of these!!!

I made two cards for this theme, with very similar layouts. As soon as I started thinking about this Choose Two challenge, it all came together quite easily. I’ve used the Stitched Rectangle Dies frame as a border for my card and added Banner Pick a Punch banners to the top left corner. I love both of these elements and it’s a layout I regularly pull out. I had to stop myself from adding a bow to the banner!!!

This was my first play with the Kangaroo & Company stamp set and the coordinating Kangaroo Dies. Can I just say – I’m in love! The kangaroo stamps so beautifully and is so easy to colour. The extra pieces are the perfect size and provide great accessories for the sweet kangaroo. And everything you can stamp can be cut out with the Kangaroo Dies!

HELLO BABY

This card has the baby kangaroo in the Mumma’s pouch. When you die cut the big kangaroo, it cuts across the top of the pouch so you can slide the builder pieces in there. So cool!!! You can also add a message to the tag that slides in and out but I’ve left it plain and just have the novelty of the baby jumping out for some fun!

The DSP for these creations is the Hydrangea Hill DSP. It’s so pretty! It helps that the colours are some of my favourites to craft with! The hello baby card has tones of Rococo Rose and Blushing Bride, with a Crumb Cake coloured kanga. The sentiment was cut using a heart die from the Be Mine Stitched Dies.

The second card uses more of the Hydrangea Hill DSP – this time in blue & purple tones with a Smoky Slate kangaroo.

The pouch is covered by the pretty floral bouquet coloured in Highland Heather, Seaside Spray and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment on this card was cut using a starburst style circle die from the Tasteful Label Dies.

Stamp Review Crew | So Sentimental

Hello! Thank you for joining us for the first Stamp Review Crew of 2021! My international friends and I will continue to bring you inspiration at least twice a month using a selected Stampin’ Up! stamp set. We hop the first and third Monday of the month with a bonus hop on the fifth Monday if there’s 5 Mondays.

Today’s hop features projects using the So Sentimental stamp set from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. This stamp set is bundles with the Stitched So Sweetly Dies which are the perfect size labels to coordinate with the sentiments.

You know I love a good sentiment set, especially one with gorgeous fonts! This stamp set lends itself to so many occasions. I’ve paired it with a range of other products in my stash and have 4 cards to show you today.

Social Stamping | baby

Hello friends!  It’s the end of the month which means it’s time for another Social Stamping blog hop with my wonderful Stampin’ Up! friends.

Today we’re making and sharing baby projects – an ode to the start of spring here in the Southern Hemisphere.  You can see all the details about this theme and the full list of participants by clicking here.

I love stamp sets with a cute baby theme.  There’s a large portion of my retired stash that are baby sets I can’t part with.  For today’s card I wanted to use a set that doesn’t jump out as a “baby set” but has included the pieces needed to create a cute ‘just hatched’ card.

This fold uses a normal card base with the top corner cut off and the front folded back on itself.  When closed it looks like this…

The baby is from the Monogram Messages stamp set.  I am in love with those scripted letters!

The dinosaur, egg and sentiment are from the Dino Days stamp set and Dino Dies.  So cute!

I added some embossing with the Woodlands Embossing Folder on the background panel and the Hammered Metal on the egg.

The DSP for the card is from two different packs.  The yellow is from the Whale of a Time DSP and the jade is from the Flowers for Every Season DSP.  My go-to colours for a neutral baby card are yellow and green, so these colours and patterns worked well.  When I look at the yellow pattern, I see dinosaur scales!

Social Stamping Blog Host | baby

All seasons bring change – but I really love the changes of spring.  If I was writing this blog post at the beginning of the month, I’d probably be reporting a very different spring experience.  But here we are almost at the end and I’m start to get those spring vibes.  The days are longer, the weather has just a hint of balminess and the paddocks are full of babies.

Which brings us to today’s theme – baby! Let’s celebrate the season of renewal – trees growing back their leaves, plants producing flowers and all those spring babies joining the world.

Paper Adventures Team Hop | Banners

Hello!  Thanks for joining us for a Paper Adventures Team Hop.  The theme today is banners and we welcome my gorgeous friend, and fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Melissa Gifford as our guest designer.  I can’t wait for you to hop around and see what banner styles everyone has used!

I made this card a little while ago for a gorgeous new baby. Don’t you just love the name???

It was made to coordinate with the gift – a personalised towel embroidered by local company Dalyellup Designs.

Sticking to my mantra this year to let my creativity not be limited by current vs retired, this card features a mix of things you can find in the current Stampin’ Up! catalogues and products from the archives.

The banner die and awesome lettering are both from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue.  I’m sure you’d believe me when I share that I bought the Tasteful Labels Dies just for that stitched banner – it was an instant crush!  The letters with the Foam Adhesive Sheets for extra pop are from the Playful Alphabet Dies – one of the must haves from the catalogue.  The embossing folder is a new pattern from the Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalogue – Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folders (skinny duo combo packs).

On the retired side we have a super cute giraffe from the Zoo Babies stamp set,  darling baby sentiment from the Fable Friends stamp set, Whisper White Baker’s Twine and Dressed to Impress DSP.  No point in keeping favourites if you’re not going to use them -right!?!

I really loved this design so I made a “BABY” version using yellow tones.

The congrats sentiment is from the Many Mates stamp set.

Playful Alphabet | Baby Card

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love being able to personalise cards. Many years ago we had sets of dies for letters and numbers. This catalogue we have a new set with letters AND numbers. And it’s glorious! They are a great size for cards, scrapbooking and 3D projects – everything. You get multiples of the most commonly used letters and extra symbols. You might be surprised to see they are only $59 (Australian store).

I used them to make a personalised baby card for a special little lady who joined the world last month.

The letters are mounted on the new Foam Adhesive Sheets to make them stand out. I cut each of the letters for ‘Samantha’ in Mint Macaron card and the foam before sticking the layers together.

The panel behind the letters is Watercolour Paper stamped with hearts from the Monogram Messages stamp set in Just Jade and Mint Macaron and die cut using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. I’ve flicked the layer with the green toned inks for a little extra texture.

The card has been finished with a Whisper White card base and a strip of Greenery embossed Whisper White Cardstock.

Social Stamping | sunshine

Hey there!  Thanks for joining me for Social Stamping Blog Host #8!!!  What a cool ride this has been.  You can see the full list of my stamping friends who are joining me for today’s hop by clicking here and visiting the main post.

The theme for today is sunshine.   Summer is my favourite season.  I love hot weather and I love the warmth and light that the sun brings to a day.  The sun for me is a symbol of hope and positivity.  I initially chose this theme to coordinate with the Share Sunshine digital stamp set brought out by Stampin’ Up as a special release to raise funds for COVID-19 relief.  Many of the sentiments in the download are uplifting and quirky and make for great rays of sunshine to brighten someone’s day (hence the title of the set!!).

This is my card using the Share Sunshine PDF images with a blended rainbow on Shimmery White cardstock.

The colours are all from the Brights family – Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and Gorgeous Grape, blended with a makeup brush.

The ‘sending love & paper hugs’ is one of my favourites from the digital stamp set – and just perfect to let someone know you are thinking about them.  Since the set is being sold as a download to my computer, I’ll have this set forever, without needing any physical storage and I can just print the pages I need, as I need them.

I’ve added another sentiment from the download to the middle of the card with more of the rainbow card I made.

This theme inspired me to create another card, using the bright yellow of the sun as the main feature – with some white clouds and a ‘hello sunshine’ sentiment.

The stamp set is a retired favourite (I can bear to part with that hello) called Hello.  It was a Sale-A-Bration stamp set many years ago, but I often pull it out because of the awesome fonts and cool sentiments.

Since I’ve decided I do like gingham after all (slow but steady seems to be the craft style here!), I’ve used Pineapple Punch DSP in the gingham pattern from the 2018-2020 In Color DSP.  The cloud die is another retired favourite – Rainbow Builder Dies.

Speaking of rainbows, do you remember my rainbow window from week three?  I updated it again yesterday with balloons for my birthday.  I was convinced it was going to fall down as soon as I put it up, but over a month later, it has survived everything including the most intense storm I’ve seen recently.

I most often craft in the afternoons while Little Master Papercraft has his afternoon nap, and then again at night when all the Little Papercrafts are in bed.  So I didn’t realise, but when the sunshine is coming through the window in the morning, it projects a silhouette of the rainbow wall onto the wall behind my computer.   What a beautiful sight!

I hope the reflections you see this weekend are beautiful and you take the time to stop and notice.  If there’s one thing that this pandemic has allowed me to enjoy, it’s a a slower pace and enjoying the little details!

Just Add Ink #504 | Colour Combination

Be still my beating heart, check out the colour combination for this week’s Just Add Ink challenge!

I love any colour combination that features gray & a pretty colour.  Yellow and gray is my usual go to, but the inclusion of pink at the suggestion of Tina is wonderful!  I can’t wait to see what the rest of the design team create.  You can see all their creations on the Just Add Ink blog.  You can also join the challenge there by sharing your card in the gallery.

One of my favourite stamp sets for creating baby cards is Fable Friends. The sweet little rabbit is adorable and I love the font for the sentiment!

It must admit, it’s taken me a while to get on board with the gingham craze – and of course it’s right as these gorgeous patterns retire!!  Stampin’ Up! are releasing new colour stacks of DSP.  If you’re a new (or long term) gingham fan, I’d suggest stocking up!  Rococo Rose (featured here) is part of the 2019-2021 In Color pack.  It’s currently in stock AND on special!!!  Click here to visit my online store.  You can also order packs for 2018-2020 In Colors, Brights & Regals (Subtles and Neutrals have sold out already).

This layout for this card was inspired by this creation by Lisa Arana.  I love a layout that you can adapt to different occasions – and this cut out corner card is a great staple design.
