Stamp Review Crew | Many Messages

Hello! Happy Easter! Did the Easter Bunny arrive at your place? Easter chocolate is my favourite so I always make sure to buy a little extra to keep me going through the next couple of months.

I’m hopping today with my friends from around the world. We’re sharing projects using the Many Messages stamp set and coordinating Messages Dies.

Although this stamp set can stand alone in its use, I think it’s best used to complement other themes and sets in your collection. It’s a one-stop shop for all occasions sentiments. But, since this hop is all about this bundle, I’ve tried to incorporate more than just the greetings by using the dies to create a background mosaic as well.

Many Messages | kelly kent

The first card uses the pretty purples in the range to create a ‘magical’ themed card. To coordinate with the styling of the sentiments, I’ve paired with the Hippo Happiness stamp set & dies.

Many Messages | kelly kent

The base is Purple Posy cardstock – sized at 5″ wide and 6-1/8″ long – to accommodate the full die set. I am trying to be more flexible with my card sizing this year and this was the perfect opportunity. I’ve double layered all those die cuts, using the negative to space them as per the layout on the die plate. The double layer gives nice depth and texture without the full height of dimensionals.

Many Messages | kelly kent

The rainbow is cut using different patterns from the range of DSP stacks I have in my collection – past, future and current. The colours are Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Purple Posy. They are layered on a vellum circle and finished with a heart from the Be Mine Stitched Dies. The rainbow is a cut file I used on my Cameo. You could easily cut something simliar by hand. If you have an e-cutter and would like this gorgeous pattern, you can purchase it from On the Beach Boutique.

The second card uses the same styling but in different colours and another flexible card size.

Many Messages | kelly kent

This card base is Thick Basic White cardstock in 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ and I’ve again used tone-on-tone for the die cut background.

Many Messages | kelly kent

The rainbow is Magneta Madness, Misty Moonlight, Goregeous Grape and Bumblebee – and from the DSP stack that is coming up in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue which gets released in May. They were a special pre-purchase available in demonstrators during Sale-A-Bration or part of the starter kit for demonstrators who joined during Sale-A-Bration.

Do you have a favourite? Ombre purples or the bright rainbow?

There really is sentiments to suit a whole range of occasions. The sentments are all on one large stamp and the die plate is also one full piece so you do all the hard work in on motion (well two – stamp once, cut once!). Use some immediately and then save the rest for when you get a quick greeting on a card.

To see how the rest of the crew used the range of sentiments, please keep hopping. The next stop is the gorgeous Ann Schach is the USA.

Thanks for hopping with us today. To see the full line up of amazing designers, please visit the main Stamp Review Crew blog.

Have a great week!

Raiding the Kid’s Stash | Easter Treats

How excited do you get about Easter? I’m a big fan of Easter chocolate, so it’s always fun to have this time of the year roll around!

This year for class Easter treats, I have used some supplies from the kids craft stash to make bunnies for the Little Miss Papercrafts and their friends. I contemplated using my Stampin’ Up! DSP but I’d be heartbroken to see them rip off the pretty paper to get to the chocolate!

Easter Treats | kelly kent

These oh-so-cute bunnies were made using my Silhouette Cameo. I created the cut file and then cut a whole page at a time. There’s two variations – one with a hole that fits the lollipop stick and one without the hole which is perfect for a mini solid chocolate egg.

Easter Treats | kelly kent

You can download the png files by clicking on the links below. There’s a solid option you can trace in your e-cutter software and a black & white version which is suitable for printing & cutting by hand. I sized these at 5-3/4″ total length which makes them about 2-3/4″ high when folded over.

Make one, or make 100 like I did, these are super to put a smile on everyone’s face this Easter!

Teepee Baby

One of the stamp sets I’m most excited about in the new catalogue is a super cute set in the Kids & Babies section called Little One.

It has the sweetest teepee and cute sentiments – can’t wait to order it next week!!!

It must have started me thinking about how cute teepees are for little people, and so when I needed to make a new baby card this week, this is what I ended up with…

While I wait for the moment I can order the Little One stamp set, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut a cute little teepee shape, complete with cute feathers at the top!

This card features a mix of the old & the new, with Pop of Pink DSP & Tin of Cards stamp set both retiring at the end of the month, and Tranquil Tide appearing as one of 5 new colours next month in the new catalogue.

It was a big sigh of relief when I found out the Large Letters Framelits are carrying over – I love my letters!

The bundle discount does not carry over though, so although the Letters for You stamp set and Large Letters Framelits will both be available during the 2017-2018 catalogue period, they are only available at individual prices, not the bundle price, saving you 10%.  There’s 18 bundles carrying over that are in the same boat.  For all the details, check out my update on Facebook.

It’s a wonderful time of transition!  Who’s excited about buying teepees???

Z-Fold Sliding Tractor Card

Z-fold cards are all the rage at the moment – and it’s no wonder!

They are easy to make, great for creating ‘scenes’ and pack a real ‘wow’ for the recipient.

This birthday card was made for a special little man – who turns 3 today!

Z-Fold Sliding Tractor Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

I wanted to up the ante on the z-fold card and create a z-fold {WITH} a slider component.

Mr Xavier’s present included John Deere branded gardening toys, so a card to match, with a yellow & green garden theme was the obvious choice!

Z-Fold Sliding Tractor Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

The tractor is a Cameo Cut.  If you don’t have an e-cutter, you can find tutorials on Pinterest or Google for punch art tractors.

I wanted it to be one smooth piece for the best sliding effect, so the cameo version worked well for me.

Z-Fold Sliding Tractor Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

The sliding track was made using the new Classic Label punch – which was easy to line up along a pencil line with the pointed ends.  I punched it out several times along the front panel until I had a runner track.

I then snipped a bit further in each side and finished the track as a rectangle (you could leave it with pointed ends!).

To attach the track to the card, I put foam adhesive strips at the top, bottom and outside edge of the strip – just where the stationary section attaches to the card.

Z-Fold Sliding Tractor Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

There are 2 coins under each wheel (held together with a dimensional and adhered to the back of the wheels) – which holds it steady and means it slides along the track rather than gravity trying to spin it.

The tractor is able to run the full length of the track and can be stored at either end while still being able to fold the card – for putting into an envelope or storing.

Z-Fold Sliding Tractor Card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

This card was such fun to make!  My brain is now “spinning” with other ideas for what I might slide across the front of a z-fold card!

Happy Birthday Xavier.  I hoe you enjoy your card – if your Mummy lets you touch it.  Although I tried to reinforce the track with lots of foam adhesive strip, I doubt any of my paper creations would withstand the cyclone force of a 3 year old boy!!!

Press For Champagne!

My lovely sister-in-law made a very specific request for her birthday card this year.  She wanted something styled on the Lisa Golightly ‘Press for Champagne’ sign.  She even posted a picture on my Facebook wall – with lots of advance notice!

This was a super fun request and I decided as awesome as it would be to have a ‘Press for Champage’ card, what if the card had rotating options!

So, here we go Caris…. here’s your Press for Champagne birthday card…

Press for Champagne Rotating Birthday Card. Balloon Builders stamp set & Birthday Bouquet DSP. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

Or, if you’re feeling a little more ugg boots & oversized jumper than LBD & stilettos…. here’s your Press for Hot Chocolate card too!

Press for Champagne / Hot Chocolate Rotating Birthday Card. Balloon Builders stamp set & Birthday Bouquet DSP. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

That’s right, the card has a spinner in it, so you can rotate the sentiment to be either champagne or hot chocolate depending on your mood.

Toot Toot – It’s Thomas & the Cameo

I’ve made a few Thomas cards across my crafting time.  He’s a tricky customer for punch art because of the unique shape of his train cab.

This week I needed a Thomas card for a special little man and went searching the net to see if I could find an SVG cut for my Cameo to help me out with the punch art side of things.

Success!!!  {kind of..}

You can find the download via the Cute As A Fox page (note: it redirects to a download page and there are some requests to sign in etc…. nothing is ever as easy as it seems!).

Unfortunately, the SVG download didn’t work in the Cameo software (I’ve now read the comments on the post and it seems the SVG is designed for a Cricut).

Not to be deterred from my plan, and a little problem solving later, I did manage to use the images from the pdf instructions & the trace function in the Cameo software to get all the pieces.  Slightly frustrating, but now that I have it all sorted, I’ve saved it for future Thomas cards.

Here’s is the end result of the process.  You’ll see that I still chose to print & punch out Thomas’s face – I think he looks more authentic with his actual face rather than attempting to do this with shapes & punches.

Thomas the Tank Engine Stampin' Up! & Silhouette Cameo hybrid card. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

The Thomas font is called Flange BQ and you can download it here.

I love how well my Stampin’ Up! range works with anything I want to cut in the Cameo to create cards with that extra special touch.

And how gorgeous is the glittery 2 using the Large Numbers Framelits.  It’s hybrid card making at its best!  Kelly x

My Little Pony – Applejack for an Apple Party

The little Misses and I are off to a party today – that’s right, it’s party season again for Team Papercraft.

In the coming months I’m looking forward to sharing some of the kids birthday creations with you.

Today’s share is a My Little Pony card featuring Applejack.  My girls love MLP at the moment.  It seems that half of my childhood memories are cool again!

My Little Pony - Applejack birthday card. Silhouette pony design, Celestia font & Stampin' Up! cardstock & specialty papers. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

The card is a combination of traditional papercraft and Silhouette e-cuts (you can purchase the pony here).

The “My Little Pony” font is called Celestia and you can download that here.  How cute is it???

And for all the details on the Stampin’ Up! products I used, check out the list at the end of the post!  It was awesome to be able to use the cute little apple from the Tree Builder punch.

Did you spy the gorgeous shiny paper as the card backdrop?  It’s from one of the new DSPs in the Occasions catalogue called “Shine On”.  It’s Kraft & silver foil and totally stunning.  It’s a heavier weight than normal DSP, which gives it a little bit of luxury.  Plus, it sparkles!!!

You can go shopping for all the Stampin’ Up! products used in this card except the Peach Parfait cardstock and Metallic Gold ink which are now retired – thankfully I still had both in my retired pile so that I could do Applejack justice and add some more sparkle to the card!

Happy Birthday Tayla!  We’re excited to celebrate with you and hope you love your MLP card.  Kelly & the little Misses x

PS, {Shhh…. the best kept Stampin’ Up! secret at the moment?  The three limited edition Sale-A-Bration choices that were due to ‘finish’ on 15th Feb are still available (until stocks last) to redeem with any $90 order}

Perfect Poodles!

Morning (or evening if you are in the other hemisphere!)!  Today I wanted to stop in to share with you a card I made for a friend who needed a way to say thank you to her poodle pet sitter.

Now, I know I say every new Stampin’ Up! product is my favourite… and with my soft spot for DSP, it’s probably no surprise that I’ve fallen head over heels in love with the Perfectly Artistic Sale-A-Bration DSP.  Sadly, this is one of three SAB products that are limited edition, which means you may not be able to add them to your order after 15th Feb 2016.  {Yes, I have been doing a bit of stock piling}.

The side with the subtle marbling is my favourite.  You can see it in action in this card as it creates a perfect beach background for my Cameo cut poodles to play on.

Want your own pack of Perfectly Artistic DSP?  It’s as simple as placing a $90 order in my online store.  If you don’t want to shop online, I can help with any order – big or small!  Kelly x

Your Birthday It Is, Celebrate You Must!

Today we are off to a birthday party to celebrate Matthew turning 5.  If you’ve been out of action, you might have missed the Star Wars explosion that has happened.

The birthday boy is obsessed with Star Wars at the moment.  I have spent a large part of the past week making Star Wars themed jelly bean boxes for his party favours.  I know his Mum loved them, but I bet you could give 5 year old their jelly beans in an old sock and they’d still be happy!!!

This is his birthday card – a Cameo / Stampin’ Up! hybrid card styled on the Star Wars logo.

Star Wars themed birthday card. Jedi font cut using Silhouette Cameo (Jedi font) & Stampin' Up! supplies (including Perpetual Calendar stamp set). Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

You can find the Stars Wars font here – Star Jedi.

The stars are from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar stamp set & heat embossed in clear – how cool do they look against the black background???

I am loving my new Occasions catalogue but it was strangely comforting to make a card using some old favourites!

Happy Birthday Matthew, may the force be with you (or your Mum for hosting 20 5-year-olds!).  Kelly & the little misses x

Meet the Newest Member of the Papercraft Family!

Mr Papercraft got his wish this month – we added a boat to the Papercraft family.  Welcome…

Boatin’ Up!

It wouldn’t be a true papercraft boat without custom vinyl lettering made with my Cameo in a font that reminds me of a particular favourite brand (Pacifico).

Here’s Mr Papercraft and his pride & joy…
