Easter for the Adults!

Happy Easter! While there was lots of chocolate at Papercraft HQ this morning and the Mini Papercrafts very definitely had eggs* for breakfast, the adult presents were a little more…. adult!

*eggs may have been the chocolate variety

The Mini Papercrafts spoiled me with the gift of time! And also some eggs to eat while I’m hiding away in the craft room in peace. They always have access to my scrap pile and I love seeing what creations they make!

I hope there is lots of excitement in your house today. In a world that can be serious and full of big issues, it’s nice to stop & experience the magic of Easter.

Raiding the Kid’s Stash | Easter Treats

How excited do you get about Easter? I’m a big fan of Easter chocolate, so it’s always fun to have this time of the year roll around!

This year for class Easter treats, I have used some supplies from the kids craft stash to make bunnies for the Little Miss Papercrafts and their friends. I contemplated using my Stampin’ Up! DSP but I’d be heartbroken to see them rip off the pretty paper to get to the chocolate!

These oh-so-cute bunnies were made using my Silhouette Cameo. I created the cut file and then cut a whole page at a time. There’s two variations – one with a hole that fits the lollipop stick and one without the hole which is perfect for a mini solid chocolate egg.

You can download the png files by clicking on the links below. There’s a solid option you can trace in your e-cutter software and a black & white version which is suitable for printing & cutting by hand. I sized these at 5-3/4″ total length which makes them about 2-3/4″ high when folded over.

Make one, or make 100 like I did, these are super to put a smile on everyone’s face this Easter!

Happy Easter 2020

Happy Easter!  2020 is going to be remembered as the year we stayed home for Easter.  I live south west of WA which is a very popular tourist spot at this time of the year.  Good Friday is normally a steady flow of traffic to the holiday spots of Busselton, Dunsborough & Margaret River.  With regional borders closed, and families asked to stay home, the roads were empty yesterday.

We did a little in-region travelling on Thursday to delivery some essential Easter wishes.With the furthest some people are going is to their letterbox, we’ve been delivering some happy mail each week to family & friends.

These are the gifts I made for my Stampin’ team….

The Lindt bugs were a perfect size for both delivery and post.  A12nd great for the garden theme created by the floral tones of the Best Dressed DSP and the super cute bunny from the Fable Friends stamp set.

I made 4 different variations, each with a different green tone to coordinate with the pattern from the Best Dressed DSP.  This DSP is one of my all-time favourites – those flowers *love*.

Mint Macaron, bunny has a Lovely Lipstick jumper

The rest of the bunny was colouring using Ivory Stampin’ Blend.  I usually use this for skin tone, but it’s a lovely option for fur.  The bunnies were stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, which is the perfect ink when colouring with Stampin’ Blends or other alcohol markers.

Happy Easter 2019!

Happy Easter to you & your family!  I hope you have a lovely weekend – with a good mix of family, friends, craft & chocolate (and all the things that make Easter special to you).

Easter chocolate is my favourite – so there’ll be a few yummy eggs for me this weekend.

I’ve packaged up a few eggs in a cute little basket.  This project was inspired by Nikki’s Just Add Ink Choose Two creation from last week.  I’ve used the same theme I used for my JAI card – I fell in love with the flower bunny!!!

These cute little boxes could be used for any occasion and are super simple to make.  The dimensions are for US cardstock – which means you need 2 sheets of A4 card to be able to cut the pieces.  It’d be easy to adjust the measurements and I think this is what I’ll do next time I make them.

I’ve filled the box with Ready Shreddie (currently available on the Australian Clearance Rack – click here to view in my online store) and some yummy Cadbury solid eggs.

Of course a gift isn’t complete without a card, so here’s the coordinating card…

The All My Love DSP is one of my favourites and I’ve made sure to stock up on it before it retires.  All the DSP from the 2019 catalogues is retiring – making way for new & amazing patterns from 4th June.  See all the retiring DSP patterns & coordinating cardstock packs here.

Hello Easter, family time and a long weekend!  What are your plans for this mini break?  Hopefully all of the things that make you happy!

If you have Easter projects still on your to-do list, the Just Add Ink design team have some great creations to inspire you.  The theme for this week is Choose Two – Bunnies, Flowers, Crosses – not strictly Easter, but it does lend itself to that rather nicely!

After seeing a totally amazing card on Instagram (see it here), I wanted to create a whimsical card where the Fable Friends bunny had a flower garland.  So this challenge was perfect timing for me to Choose Bunnies & Flowers!

With a pair of scissors in hand, I spend some time fussy cutting the All My Love DSP.  Quite a bit of time – don’t CASE this card if you don’t like fine cutting with scissors!

I love the pattern & colours of the All My Love DSP.  I used it for the card background, the flower spray behind the bunny and the flower garland.

The sentiment is from the Fable Friends stamp set.  I did a little happy dance that this stamp set didn’t appear on the retirement list (read: it’s in the upcoming Annual Catalogue!).  The bunny is adorable!!!  And so are the other characters!

ESAD Blog Hop | Sale-A-Bration Bundles

Hello!  Thanks for joining us for an ESAD blog hop.  These special hops pop up several times a year to celebrate new products and great promotions.

We’re currently in the final month of Sale-A-Bration – where you can shop and receive free products, join and receive amazing value for your Starter Kit or host and get extra rewards.  It’s the most wonderful time of the Stampin’ Up! year!!

Contrary to my usual last minute style, I’m working ahead at the moment, using the His Grace stamp set from the Occasions catalogue to create Easter themed card & gift for Miss Papercraft’s teachers.

This is the bundle – stamp set, Cross of Hope framelits from the Annual Catalogue (such a great staple for religious and occasions requiring a cross for symbolism) and ribbon for embellishment, with the Delightfully Detailed DSP as your Sale-A-Bration selection.  This DSP (from the Annual Catalogue) is part of the 3rd release of bonus items.  See the bottom of this post for all 3rd release Sale-A-Bration choices.

You will (of course) also require cardstock, ink and adhesive.  I have also added in Stitched Shapes & Rectangle Stitched Framelits – but you could leave these out or swap for other shapes you own.

Using these products I made a gift set of candle and card.

The candle is easy to make by stamping on tissue paper, applying to the candle and gently heating using wax paper as a barrier between your heat gun and the candle.

Each pack of Delightfully Detailed DSP includes 12″x12″ sheets of laser cut paper in two designs – one full page and one with smaller panels & strips you can cut and adhere to products. I’ve embellished the bottom of the candle with a strip of the paper – it’s such a deluxe product!

The card uses one of the panel pieces adhered to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock.

I love how the laser cut DSP coordinates with the layered cross!

The sentiments in this stamp set tell a great story which I have told across the candle, card front and card inside.

The colours of the card and gift set were inspired by the school colours.  If you were making this for a church, school or friend, you could choose colours that are meaningful to your community.

Just Add Ink #400 | Photo Inspiration

Wow!!!  Just Add Ink celebrates 400 challenges this week!

Challenge #400 is a fabulous specked egg photo inspiration…

It might help to get you in the mood for some Easter creating, or might be great colours for a baby card!  Whichever way the photo inspires you, I can’t wait to see what you upload to the blog to get you in the mood for some Easter creating. for you 400th challenge!

I went Easter – being a good opportunity to be organised for some Easter gifts this year!  It feels good to have something done prior to the night before!

I like to maintain I work best under pressure – but the sense of achievement is a nice (if unique) feeling!

The photo inspired me to head to the chocolate isle and pick up some speckled chocolate eggs (called Mini Eggs… since when???).

And create some specked DSP using the Eclectic Expressions stamp set (exclusively available during Sale-A-Bration)….

Which I then used to turn into speckled egg bon-bons…

I used the instructions on my Stamping Sunday Naturally Eclectic post, but adjusted the size to be able to get 2 pieces from an A4 pieces of Whisper White thick cardstock.

Here’s the revised instructions for A4 cardstock (click the link above for some helpful photos):

• Cut a piece of A4 cardstock in half (at 5-7/8″ along the long edge) = 5-7/8″ x 8-1/4″
• Score (going down the long edge, across the short edge) at 1-3/8″, 2-3/4″, 4-1/8″ & 5-1/2″
• Fold along the first score line and insert into the Envelope Punch Board at 1-3/4″ and punch
• Repeat for all score lines (fold, punch) and finally without any folding on the edge
• Do the same for each score line, 1-3/4″ from the other edge
• Adhere along the small strip to create a box shape
• Finish with ribbon on each end & embellishments on top

The sentiment is from my trusty ‘all occasions’ stamp set – Teeny Tiny Sentiments in a Stitched Oval Shape with Mini Silver Sequin Trim & Pool Party Shimmer Ribbon.

Having chocolate as a prop in the photo was a fabulous idea – someone had to eat it afterwards!  We’ll call that quality control!!!

Happy Easter 2017!

I was going to post my 2017 Easter Treats tomorrow… but then I realised if you are a last minute crafter like me, they might be useful today!

But let me start off your day with one of my favourite memes that pops up every Easter…

This year, my Easter cards and gifts were nice & simple – which is often perfect!

But, I did make several of these Z-Fold planter box cards to share with special people.

I really loved the Basket Bunch and Basket Builder Framelit Dies for Easter this year.  They were cute & fun!!!

They are both currently on the retirement list – and at a discount.  It’s a great way to get stamps for next Easter at a great price!

This card is just like a normal Z-fold card but with cardstock stuck between the z-fold and the card base to create a planter box.

I did miss an easy ‘Happy Easter’ sentiment in this bundle, but I made my own using the ‘happy’ stamp from the Tin of Cards and Suite Sentiments stamp sets (both on the retirement list).

How cute is that bunny popping out the side when the card is closed???

I always have a stash of our 2″ x 8″ cello bags on hand because they make great gifts and you can fill them with lots of things including Easter eggs.

Add a cute bunny and they are ready to give out!

CASEing the Catty #123 Easter

Have I told you that my favourite chocolate in the whole world is Easter chocolate?

This Easter chocolate to be exact (in case you’ve a person short on your Easter list this year!!! hehe!)….

Although this might seem like a random way to start a post, it’s not all that strange… because this week at CASEing the Catty it’s all about Easter.

There’ll be lots of eggs…. but of the paper variety!

I have been itching to CASE the comic strip superhero layout on page 49 of the Occasions catalogue.

A few of the crew used it for the Urban Underground hop – including the wonderful Simone Bartrum.

Simone was also kind enough to map out all the measurements which came in very handy!  You can find them on her CTC#120 post here.

I altered them slightly to fit in all the dies – I’ll note the changes below.

For my version of this card layout, I used the Basket Builder Framelit Dies to create negative images which I then matted on fun & bright colours.

The sentiment is from the faithful Teeny Tiny Sentiments – which is always my go-to when I need a specific greeting.  It has all the common occasions throughout the year.

It was one of the first sets I bought – it’s wood and in the old style clam cases!  How things have changed!!!  I have a feeling it will be retired this year.

My slightly tweaked measurements (in cms because that’s how Simone rolls!):

Card Base: 29xm x 10.5cm, scored at 14.5cm and folded

Top Row:

Easter Hats for an Easter Parade!

Today is the annual school Easter Parade and there’s nothing like a healthy Stampin’ Up! stash to make school events a little more fun!

The Little Miss Papercrafts and and I got busy repurposing some party hats into some cute easter hats with the help of the Basket Bunch stamp set and Basket Builder Framelits.

Do you ever craft with kids?  It’s so hard to let go of our creative perfectionist tendencies and just let them colour, arrange and embellish!

This is Alexa’s – she’s 6 and likes colouring the lines and arranging with flair….

The tassel addition at the top was completely Alexa’s idea!  I don’t use the fringe scissors nearly often enough!

This is Maddie’s – she’s 3 and follows no one’s rules!

Blue bunny?  Yes she did!

So cute in their hats!

After they posed so willingly (read: I had to bribe the little one with chocolate), they insisted on some live action hat shots too.

As far as Easter hat creations go, this bundle actually made this project a breeze!

The girls did all their own stamping & colouring, I was just on hand to die cut the pieces and regulate the use of Tombow!

I’m throwing my Easter hats into the ring (or parade!) as hopefully they might save a parent or 2 this week!!!
