Pyramid Pals Easter Bunnies

Today is Good Friday, which for us means no school, no work & no appointments!  We are spending the day in our pjs doing things that make us happy – like playing games, eating yummy food & doing some craft.

Just in case you’re also having a ‘good’ Friday and have some time at the craft table for some last minute Easter crafting, I wanted to share these cute little bunnies with you I made for Easter teacher gifts this year.

They are made using the Pyramid Pals Thinlits dies and Playful Pals stamp set.

So cute!!!  But super tiny – this surprised me a little.  Although I’ve been using this bundle lots, I hadn’t made a pyramid creation yet.

They meausre at approx 7cm tall and 6cm (square) across the bottom.  I was able to squeeze a mini Lindt bunny and 3 little Lindt eggs in, but that was all!  Which was actually the perfect amount for this project.

The good news about them being so small, is I was able to get all the pieces from half an A4 piece of cardstock (including the ears & bow).  This makes them very economical to make.  And with the pyramid thinlit die doing all the hard work for you, putting them together is a breeze as well – just line up the tabs with adhesive as needed.

{Don’t forget to add some ribbon before the final stick if you want a little handle}

How cute is the honeycomb embellishment as a little tail?  They come in white, blue & pink – which makes them perfect for every bunny!

The tags were made using the “Happy Easter” from the Easter Lamb stamp – I’m a sucker for a good font – cut out with one of my favourite punches, the Washi Label.

These Pyramid Pals Easter Bunnies went down a treat with the teachers!  I wonder if they’ve eaten all their chococlates yet???

Happy Easter to everyone – hope your weekend is lovely! Kelly x

There’s 13 talented ladies on the hop today – all with some seriously dangerous inspiration!!!

Did you come via’s Amity’s great projects?  I always love seeing what she’s made!

Today I’m sharing projects I made using the Metallics Glitter Tape.  Although I loved lots of the Sale-A-Bration projects (and shared lots of my creations with you over the past 3 months!), I haven’t really shown off the glitter tape yet.  Which is a shame – because it’s truly stunning.

ESAD Blog Hop - 3 great Metallics Glitter Tape projects. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

But don’t worry, I’m going to change that now and show you three different projects I made featuring the tape.

I’ve also thrown a couple of other SAB products in the mix too!!!

The first share uses the silver glitter tape as a card embellishment together with silver ribbon.  Simple but lovely – I love purple & silver together!

And how amazing the dandelion DSP???  This is also a Sale-A-Bration product – from the Wildflower Fields DSP.  So cute!

With Easter just around the corner, I couldn’t resist using the white tape to add some sparkle to this cute little gift card holder.

Did you know that the tape can be coloured to create a different look altogether!!!  I brayered the tape with Blushing Bride ink to add a touch of colour to the egg.

ESAD Last Chance Sale-A-Bration 2016 Blog Hop - Metallics Glitter Tape Easter Egg Gift Card Holder. Kelly Kent - mypapercraftjourney.com.

And my final share is using the gold glitter tape – as tape!  I’ve used it to attach a Memories in the Making Project Life card (also a Sale-A-Bration choice!) to my card front.  The stick on this glitter tape has to be seen to be believed – the quality is amazing!

The sentiment in from the Limited Edition Sale-A-Bration stamp set – Party Pants.  I tried out embossing in gold on the acetate PL card – that was tricky business!  The static on those sheets is crazy and I had all sort of flyaways going on!!!!

Happy Easter from Kelly & the little bunnies!

Happy Easter Sunday!  We’ve been spending the weekend with family & friends – eating way too much chocolate and delighting in seeing Easter through the eyes of kids.  This morning we followed the Easter bunny’s trail around the garden – collecting, eggs, stickers, crackers & toys.  So much fun!  Easter was definitely ‘this way ->’!

These are my two little “Easter bunnies”… Do you love their ‘mummy made’ shirts (guess who got a fabric blade for their Cameo!!!)?

The Cutest Easter Curvy Keepsake Boxes

image

I love Easter because Easter chocolate is my all-time favourite chocolate.  Specifically the Cadbury eggs that come in a crate or milk carton.  So … if you have extra and need a home for them, you know where to find me.  Hubby is a Lindt fan, so I might consider making him one of these gorgeous Easter Curvy Keepsake Boxes I CASEd from Alexandra Bleicher.  So cute!

Thanks to Alex for the inspiration.  Kelly x

Just Add … Ovals #255

Week 3 of guest designing for Just Add Ink – I’m having such a fun time with the challenges and this week was no exception.

With Easter around the corner, this week’s theme was “Just Add Eggs or Ovals”.  So, using only the Oval Framelits, I have created a cute bunny silhouette.

Here’s the layout for the ovals:

image

  • The smallest oval framelit makes the ears & legs
  • The second smallest oval framelit makes the head
  • The third smallest oval framelist makes the body

I started with the ears (one at a time), then the head, then the body and finally the feet poking out.  When you’ve finished, your silhouette should look like the solid black outline.

I filled the space with Best Year Ever DSP and finished it with a doily paper tail.  Add in a “Happy, Hoppy Easter” sentiment and he’s on his way to find chocolate to bring for Easter.  Bring some my way Mr Bunny!  Kelly x

Just Add Ink #252 Sketch Challenge – Happy Easter

This week at Just Add Ink its a sketch challenge.

I’ve been wanting to try this ‘on the angle’ look for a while, so thanks for the push JAI.

With Easter only a month away, I thought it was time to get started on inking up my Occasions Easter sets and using them to create a ‘Happy Easer’ creation. Isn’t the bunny cute? He was a little delicate to fussy cut, but worth the effort! Kelly x

Easter Babies (Freshly Made Sketches 169)

The Occasions 2015 catalogue features a large range of seasonal stamps to suit the first half of the year including Valentine’s Day, Easter & Mother’s Day.  It’s a little early to be creating Easter cards, but I wanted to ink up my new “For Peep’s Sake” stamp set.

For Peep's Sake - Occasions 2015

So cute!  The little chicks make for a perfect ‘inky’ family – don’t you think?  And a great opportunity to create a card using this week’s Freshly Made Sketch (#169).

FMS169

So, this is another baby card on its way to a new set of parents, ready to raise their very own little chick.  There might be a few ‘for peep’s sake’ moments in the mix, but hope their baby experience is more ‘happy & hoppy’.  Kelly x

Project Life is joining the Stampin’ Up! Family!

I’m a little behind the 8-ball on this post, so you may already have heard my exciting news.  But, just in case you get all your Stampin’ Up! gospel from me, I’m crazy excited to tell you that Project Life is joining the Stampin’ Up! family!  If you’ve never heard of Project Life before, then you are in for a treat!  Project Life or “PL” is the new (& fabulous) way of memory keeping.  I love it because it’s like mini-cards or tags (embellished cards) mixed with photos and put into a 12×12 pocket page layout.  It can be as simple or elaborate as you choose.  Update weekly, monthly or just special occasions – these are scrapbooks that your family & friends will love to browse through and you will cherish.

Learn more about Project Life & Stampin’ Up! by watching this You Tube video – Introducing Project Life by Stampin’ Up!.

When the new catalogue launches in July, you’ll be able to purchase a range of exclusive Project Life products including pocket pages, cards, journaling pens, PL stamp sets & more.  If you can’t wait until then to get started, then you can download the Project Life Everyday Adventure Kit for My Digital Studio (MDS).  This gives you 56 stamp images & 204 card templates – simply open MDS and print them out!  Use them just as they are, or add your own personal flair.  If you’re super keen, or digital design isn’t your thing, you may be interested in the two limited edition Show & Tell photopolymer stamp sets during May.  These stamp sets have been designed with Project Life in mind and are so cute!  If you buy both sets, you get the Seeing the Possibilities Online Class for free!  Plus, you will be amongst the first in Australia to try SU!’s new style of stamps –  photopolymer.

To celebrate the pre-launch & all the hype about Project Life, I am sharing my Easter spread with you.  The girls and I visited my family and made so many happy memories.  My favourite moment was when my oldest suggested that we all play ‘pass the bucket’.  Her uncle won and got a toy chicken from her Easter hunt stash as a prize.  I think the smiles in the photos say it all!  I’ve used a combination of MDS created cards & images/stamps and Stampin’ Up! DSP & cardstock cut with my paper trimmer & dies/punches (Label Thinlit Card, Decorative Label, Ovals Collection).  The two large cards are awaiting my personal touch with journaling about the day.  You might not believe me when I tell you it took me just over an hour to design, print, cut & style the whole spread.  I’m so impatient about the full range of PL being available.  C’mon July!!!  Kelly x

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!  I hope you’ve had a great day.  My long weekend started with the wonderful wedding, and has continued with lots of socialising with close friends & family.  Today we had breakfast with my family, followed by an Easter hunt, then a trip to see the Dinosaur exhibition at the museum and finished with a yummy roast dinner!!!  And would you believe I’ve only eaten two small eggs today?  The night is still young though, and I’m sure I can fit a few more in before bedtime.

Easter presents were largely chocolate free for my little misses.  The older one has food intolerances and normal chocolate doesn’t agree with her.  The younger one is still too little to know what chooclate is, but I suspect that will change soon (she’s finally come around to the enjoyment of food and can’t get enough).  So amongst the pajamas, books, clothes and knick knacks they got were these two beauties that I’m sharing with you.

This box had a necklace and bracelet set from Nanna in it.  Nanna is a Stampin’ Up! addict too and made the sweetest little bunny box using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (inspired by Carol’s creation here).

20140420-165716.jpg

The other favourite Easter present was a beautiful painting set by Typo from Uma & CaCa (Uncle Mark and Aunty Caris) with paint colours that were so reminiscent of Stampin’ Up! range, I had to share!  Do you see Stampin’ Up! everywhere you go?  I present to you our Calyspo Coral, Pistachio Pudding, Bermuda Bay & Summer Starfruit bunnies.  Happy Easter!  Kelly x
